There are lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes in and around Whitby. The following are just a selection of some of the well known ones. You are advised to reserve your table in advance. Don't forget restaurants have summer and winter opening hours.

When you tell your friends that you are coming to Whitby they will say 'Don't forget to go to the Magpie'.

Located on the quayside on Pier Road this fully licensed restaurant offers an extensive fresh fish and seafood menu, locally sourced meats and home made desserts. Winter and summer opening times vary so we suggest you check their website for further information or telephone 01947 602058 for further information. Go on spec and you'll find a que outside, but don't worry the Magpie is like a tardis with loads of space inside (insider info - sometimes they accept reservations).

Sadly there was recently a terrible fire at the Magpie and at time of writing May 2017, the restaurant and take away outlets are both closed. We wish them a speedy refirbishment, we will update this notice as soon as we have better news.
